Brooke is a TEDx speaker and the former Executive Editor of Seal Press. She currently sits on the boards of the Book Industry Study Group, the Bay Area Book Festival, and the National Association of Memoir Writers. She writes a monthly column for Publishers Weekly.
Brooke is a truly exceptional editor who transformed my writing, helping me create a deeper, smarter, and more powerful memoir than I could ever have imagined. Over eight months, she extracted multiple layers of meaning from my ideas and anecdotes, and guided me towards a tightly-woven manuscript. Thanks to her probing questions and incisive ability to see the big picture, I ended up not only with a book of which I'm deeply proud, but a far more mature understanding of my experiences.
—Girish Gupta Author of Always GoBrooke Warner was a literary activist for diversity and equality before it was a movement. As an author-advocate she continues to champion alternatives to publishing's business-as-usual offerings in a straightforward and passionate manner. She was a keynote speaker at the 2020 San Francisco Writers Conference and she blew everyone away!

Write Your Memoir in Six Months was, without question, the most useful and inspiring writing class I have taken. The insight and practical tools I learned about character, dialogue, how to make my story universal through the use of takeaways and reflection inspired me to do another full revision with a sophistication and lens I simply did not have before. Best gift I could have given my writing self!
